A remote mountain village stands as the backdrop for an ancient legend that speaks of catastrophic events attributed to a malevolent monster. The tale recounts the struggles of countless individuals—priests, priestesses, and monks—who banded together to quell the monster's reign of terror. However, whispers persist that despite their efforts, the malevolent beings continue to stir when darkness descends upon the land.

Transported to this ominous locale during the final summer of his high school days, our protagonist finds himself entangled in an unexpected journey at the behest of his countryside-dwelling uncle. Encountering a mysterious girl named Ayumi at a bus stop near the base of the mountain, he unwittingly becomes her companion as they embark on a peculiar quest together.

As unexplained occurrences unravel at every turn, a sense of foreboding builds in the air, prompting questions about the enigmatic events cloaking the mountain pass in shadow.
